Regional network of the Youth Initiative for Human Rights (YIHR) opens the call for application for journalists from Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo and Montenegro for participation at the study visit to Belgrade which will be held in period between February 17th and 19th. The call for application is focused on journalists interested in the topic of regional cooperation and youth policies.
The study visit will be organized during last meeting of the Regional Youth Cooperation Office (RYCO) Working Group which will take place in Belgrade between February 16th and 20th. The initiative for establishment of the Regional Youth Cooperation Office was firstly announced at the Western Balkans Summit in Berlin 2014, while the Joint Declaration on Establishment of the RYCO was signed by prime ministers of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia at the Vienna Summit in August 2015. The RYCO Working Group consisted of representatives of ministries in charge for youth policies and civil society from six countries is tasked to develop the concept for future office through which young people from the region will be provided with opportunity to meet their peers from neighboring countries. The Working Group will finish the work during meeting in Belgrade and its final product will be documents that define mission, statute and mandate of the future office for youth exchanges which should be officially established at the third Summit on the Western Balkans – in Paris in July this year.
Journalists taking part in the study tour will have chance to learn about the Berlin Process with special focus on youth cooperation, about efforts that six governments invested in establishment of the RYCO and activities of the Working Group.
YIHR will provide participants of the study visit with:

Direct contacts with stakeholders relevant for the process of establishment of the Regional Youth Cooperation Office: members of the RYCO Working Group, representatives of the French-German Youth Office who facilitate this process and representatives of institutions in Serbia that are involved in the process;

Opportunity to take part in some of the events that will be organized in Belgrade in order to promote the idea of strengthening youth cooperation in the Western Balkans;

Help for scheduling interviews for any other topic that journalists are particularly interested in.
