We Held an EU Pub Quiz!
How Well Do We Know the European Union?
How many member states does the European Union have? When was the euro introduced? Which European countries use the euro without being EU members? And what criteria must a candidate country meet to become a member?
These were just some of the questions tackled yesterday at our EU Pub Quiz, organized as part of the project Back to the Roots: Amplifying and Embracing European Perspective and Shared Values from Bottom Up.
The quiz brought together seven teams of different age groups, who tested their knowledge of the European Union, its history, institutions, member states and enlargement process. The questions covered a wide range of topics, from the introduction of the euro and interesting facts about European geography to the requirements for joining the European Union. Beyond the competitive spirit, the quiz was an opportunity to learn, exchange knowledge and discover interesting facts about the European Union. Because learning about the EU does not have to be limited to textbooks and official documents, we can also explore European topics through socializing, conversation and a little friendly competition!
The EU Pub Quiz is part of the Back to the Roots: Amplifying and Embracing European Perspective and Shared Values from Bottom Up project, which encourages citizens to develop a better understanding of the European Union and shared European values.
The BttR project is led by the Youth Initiative for Human Rights Serbia, in partnership with Scidev, Pro Local, the Youth Initiative for Human Rights Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Youth Initiative for Human Rights Montenegro, the Youth Initiative for Human Rights Kosovo, the Youth Initiative for Human Rights Croatia, and the 8 March Institute.
