We are starting off our series of webinars on 7th of October at 18:00h with Mirza Buljubašić navigating us through post-conflict transition in the Balkans in From Transition to Transformation: Intergenerational Shifts in Shaping the Balkans

Mirza Buljubašić is an employee in the Department of Criminology at the University of Sarajevo – Faculty of Criminal Justice, Criminology, and Security Studies, as well as a PostDoc on the VIDI Project Transitional Punishment: Moderating Legacies of Mass Atrocities?: A Case Study of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Czechia. He belongs to a wave of young thinkers and empiricists interested in political violence, including war crimes, terrorism, and extremism, as well as issues of punishment and penal policy. His scholarly works have been published in the Oxford University Press, International Criminal Law Review, Criminal Justice Issues, and Criminal Justice Studies: A Critical Journal of Crime, Law and Society.

 

We will then proceed to Natalia Zwarts who will, on 21st ofOctober at 18:00h, introduce us to cybersecurity challenges and widespread misinformation online in Emerging Cybersecurity Challenges and Detecting Misinformation Online. 

Natalia Zwarts is a lecturer at the Hague University of Applied Sciences, specializing in wargaming. She implemented wargames into NATO Civil-Military Cooperation Center of Excellence training and concept development. Previously she coordinated NATO Anti-Submarine Warfare Capability Development at the Headquarters in Brussels and worked at the Civil-Military Cooperation Centre of Excellence (CCOE).

On 4th of November at 18:00h we are tuning in with Željko Vukša-Fejzić who will talk to us about the youth’s role in the EU integration process in Generation EU: How Young People from the Western Balkans are Shaping the Integration Process.

Željko Vukša-Fejzić is an advocate for youth rights with a background in law, international relations, and politics. He was a member of the leadership of the European Law Students’ Association (ELSA) Sarajevo and ELSA BiH as well as the Youth Council of Centar Municipality, Sarajevo Canton and the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He served as a youth delegate to the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe for the 2023/2024 term and as the coordinator for Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Johns Hopkins SAIS project and the U.S. Mission to NATO. He is currently a member of the Youth Affairs Committee of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the inter-party “Group 9” of the National Democratic Institute (NDI), and is the president of the Global Advisory Board of the Generation Democracy network of the International Republican Institute (IRI).

 

Last but definitely not least, on 21st of November at 18:00h, Maja Krištafor will guide us through best practices and strategies on building personal brands online and offline in How to Successfully Build Your Personal Brand. 

Maja Krištafor is an activist, communication expert, and advisor for inclusivity and equality who has founded Croatia’s first DEI consulting company. She has actively been working on social change through advocacy campaigns, projects, and education in collaboration with various civil sector organizations. With a decade of activism under her belt, Maja has worked closely with NGOs to make a difference in the lives of women, LGBTIQ+ individuals, and people with disabilities. She also works closely with HR departments in corporate surroundings, providing the support they need to initiate meaningful change within the workplace.
